Math and Statistics Skills Camp

Description

This week-long course prepares incoming PhD students in political science for the department’s graduate methods sequence. Students establish a foundation in R, moving from data manipulation and visualization to a first regression, and learn to read the mathematical notation used in formal coursework. Sessions also introduce the technical tools of research production, including LaTeX, reference management, and reproducible workflows, alongside professionalization sessions on the norms, milestones, and expectations of graduate study.
